Whilst the UK tentatively eases its current lockdown restrictions it has been agreed that Winchcombe’s Open Gardens 2021 event will follow the Virtual format adopted last year. The 2020 Virtual tour proved to be a great success and, indeed, encouraged participation by households who are not able to open their gardens in normal circumstances.
Naturally there may be some disappointment at this option but in consideration of the operational and administrative tasks required prior to June, as well as the government guidelines regarding dates and numbers of people, it is agreed that it is the most practical and safest decision to make at this time.
Therefore, I would like to invite you to submit photographs of your gardens for display on the Winchcombe Open Gardens website and Facebook page. Hopefully this will encourage everyone’s continued interest in the ethos of the Open Gardens event and provide a focus for physical, hands-on participation in 2022.
By way of encouragement Major Tom and Mrs Rosemary Hancock have again generously donated a Garden Voucher prize for the Best Garden as depicted in the photographs submitted.

Photographs to be submitted from 1st June 2020 – 14th June 2021 (inclusive) to: firstname.lastname@example.org o File format - JPEG o If prompted (via iPhone /iPad), then please send medium or small images files
For those more technically minded:
Approx. file size - 20–200K
Approx. 100 – 200 pixels wide for a thumbnail image (400 – 600 is a large image)
Resolution - 72 DPI
Maximum of EIGHT photographs
Colour or black and white – it’s up to you!
The photographs will be identified with your name and general location, for example: Rosie Green, Sudeley View
If you would like to add any additional comments to accompany the photographs then please submit this information and I will endeavour to add these (but cannot guarantee this – it all depends on time and how many are received altogether).
Photographs will be added to the website throughout the whole month of June 2021.
